Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of MongoLens ("the app"), a MongoDB database management application available on iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and as a widget. By downloading, installing, or using MongoLens, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using MongoLens, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

MongoLens is a client application that allows you to connect to, browse, query, and manage MongoDB databases. The app connects directly from your device to your MongoDB servers. We do not host, proxy, or store your database content.

3. Account and Access

MongoLens does not require user account registration. Your database connection credentials are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device. You are solely responsible for:

• The security of your MongoDB server credentials.
• Ensuring you have authorization to access and modify the databases you connect to.
• Any actions performed on your databases through the app.

4. Subscriptions

4.1 Free Tier

MongoLens offers a free tier with limited functionality, including a restricted number of saved connections and read-only access to your databases.

4.2 MongoLens Pro

MongoLens Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription with the following plans:

• Monthly — billed every month.
• Yearly — billed every year.

Pro features include unlimited connections, full CRUD operations, database management, aggregation pipelines, export/import, collection statistics, bookmarks, and an ad-free experience.

4.3 Billing and Renewal

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.

4.4 Price Changes

Subscription prices may change. You will be notified in advance through the App Store. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

5. AI Query Builder

MongoLens includes an AI-powered query generation feature. By using this feature:

• You acknowledge that your natural language prompt, collection name, and schema structure (field names and types only) are sent to our servers and processed using a third-party AI service (OpenAI).
• Your actual database content is never transmitted.
• AI-generated queries are provided as suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing and validating any generated query before executing it against your database.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or safety of AI-generated queries.
• AI queries are subject to daily usage limits.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app to access databases without proper authorization.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Abuse the AI Query Builder by sending excessive, automated, or malicious requests.
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

7. Your Data and Responsibility

MongoLens is a tool that executes operations you initiate against your databases. You are fully responsible for:

• All data modifications (inserts, updates, deletes, drops) performed through the app.
• Maintaining backups of your databases.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws for the data you manage.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

MongoLens is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• The app will be compatible with every MongoDB server version or configuration.
• AI-generated queries will be correct or safe to execute.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Data loss or corruption in your databases.
• Unauthorized access resulting from compromised credentials.
• Damages resulting from executing AI-generated queries.
• Service interruptions or connection failures.

10. Intellectual Property

MongoLens and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by MongoLens and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. "MongoDB" is a trademark of MongoDB, Inc. MongoLens is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by MongoDB, Inc.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the AI Query Builder service or other server-dependent features at our discretion. Your locally-stored data and direct database connections are not affected by such termination.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
